Mon	Leap from the Page to the Stage: By ARTSiE	Join ARTSiE as we leap from the page to the stage with William Steig's popular story, Doctor de Soto. During the class, children will be encouraged to explore the play’s themes of empathy, courage, and navigating the right thing to do all through creative storytelling, acting and crafts. Mon	Program has reached capacity ~~Sewing Club: By Butterscotch Sewing~~	Let’s sew together! This beginning sewing class taught by Butterscotch Sewing’s owner and fellow Washington parent, Rachel Hueffner, will teach your student all of the important sewing basics! Throughout the session the students will work on a variety of projects including pillows and accessories. Projects will be sewn using both hand sewing and the sewing machine. No prior sewing experience is needed. The class will make use of real sewing tools including fabric cutting scissors, needles, pins and patterns. Tue	ACT ONE: DRAMA DEBUT: By Mudlark Theater Company	"If your young artist has a vibrant imagination and loves to create new stories and adventures, begin their theater journey with ACT ONE: DRAMA DEBUT. In this Mudlark Theater class, young artists will learn about the fundamentals of being a theater maker. We will build our Actor’s Toolkit using our voice, body, and imagination to explore new characters and play lots of fun theater games. Evanston's own Let's Craft It! (and Washington mom, Samira Taher Kolb), is partnering with Right at School to offer this unique after-school elective. Kids will make cool crafts based on a different theme each week (from current cultural celebrations to seasonal changes), using mixed media and differing techniques. Tue	Martial Arts: By Connelly's Academy, Inc.	"Grandmaster Connelly is one of the most experienced and respected martial arts instructors in Chicago and the North Shore. He and his team of experienced martial arts educators have been providing fun, safe, and age-appropriate classes to our schools for over 30 years. His programs have had success in building confidence and motivating children to be respectful, responsible and resilient. Personal leadership and mutual respect form the foundation of his programs. Grandmaster Connelly and his team make learning martial arts fun, engaging and challenging, all the while building confidence, resiliency and personal leadership. This program teaches goal-setting and persistence, helping each child reach his or her personal best through the study of classical martial arts. Uniforms are not required for beginners. Uniforms may be purchased via our website. If not wearing uniforms, kids should wear loose, comfortable clothing. Belt promotion testing opportunities – where kids can advance in rank and earn a higher belt color by demonstrating what they have learned in class – are offered for qualified students in class. Wed	Coding & Game Design: By Kids STEM Studio	Young learners dive into programming with Scratch, a visual programming environment with a drag-and-drop creative learning interface developed by MIT Media Lab. Students use code blocks and a library of characters, enabling them to focus on logic and enjoy the learning experience! Working on different levels, young coders think creatively, reason systematically, and problem-solve to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations.
