SEL and Trauma-Informed Care for Your School Community

Thursday, July 16 @1:00pm CST

After an emotionally challenging Spring and Summer, children, parents, and even school staff are about to face a new obstacle—readjusting to the social dynamics and expectations of school life amid an ongoing pandemic. That’s why Right At School is partnering with the YWCA to discuss how SEL and trauma-informed care practices can help school leaders support the emotional well-being of staff and students this Fall.

Our Presenters

Dr. Dawn Bridges, Right At School’s resident SEL expert and experienced district administrator, will interview Cheryl Hazek, a licensed clinical social worker and Children’s Mental Health Coordinator for the YWCA. Together, they’ll discuss important questions facing your community:

  • How do we integrate SEL and trauma-informed care into our childcare programs, curriculum, staff training, and community initiatives?
  • What can educators do to reduce the stigma around mental health issues?
  • How can we create an environment that supports the well-being of every member of our school community: children, parents, teachers, and staff?
