PreK Learning

Our Approach:

Right At School Early Learning is a Kindergarten preparedness program which uses the latest research in brain development and curriculum design to foster a child’s social emotional and academic wellbeing with a comprehensive curriculum that builds upon children’s natural enthusiasm and curiosity.

With a hands-on approach to learning, our program creates a language rich environment which values investigation and inquiry, giving children the tools necessary to be problem solvers, innovators, visionaries, and spirited learners.  We facilitate learning through interdisciplinary discovery and exploration, all while promoting peer socialization and appreciation of our diverse world.  We patiently nurture students with respect and positive guidance, and we partner closely with parents, knowing this is the most effective avenue for effectively supporting children as they navigate their important early years.

Core Content Curricula:

English Language Arts- Blueprint for Early Literacy
Our school uses the Blueprint for Early Literacy Pre-Kindergarten curriculum based on National Reading Panel and Early Reading First recommendations that is designed to meet state standards for reading, writing, and oral language development. Children learn fundamental skills and a joy of letters, words and books.
Mathematics–Bridges
Bridges Pre-K is playful and play-based, designed to engage children through the use of contextual themes, games, stories, mysteries and intriguing problems, manipulatives and visual models. It is also logically sequenced around well-researched developmental progressions to allow for depth and focus as children progress in knowledge and skills.

Bridges Pre-K provides instruction across the recommended math content areas, including number, operations, geometry, patterning, measurement, and data analysis.
Science–Foss
To a young student, the pine trees at the park, the plants on the school grounds, and the animals we see at home and around us are all phenomena. Foss science PreK curriculum grows student curiosity and science knowledge and skills through the systematic investigation of the phenomena all around us.

Related Arts

Our program is designed so students grow both academic knowledge and skills needed for Kindergarten readiness, but also the durable skills needed for lifetime success.  We integrate learning opportunities in performing arts, fine arts, physical education, fitness, health, and social studies content in our core curricular instruction.  Integrated activities are also designed to foster development of durable skills such as collaboration and cooperation, self-regulation, creativity, and problem-solving.

We keep homework stress where it belongs — with us. Our educators group kids into age-appropriate homework pods and help everyone complete assignments on time.

Over 180 Disguised Learning™Activities

Kids enjoy a variety of Disguised Learning activities every day, exploring math & science, reading & writing, nature & outdoor learning, creative & performing arts, and community service.

Self-Directed Learning

We give kids a chance to focus on their own interests, whether that means quietly reading a great book or joining friends to design a feat of engineering!

The Right Moves™ Fitness Blast

We do a fun ‘fitness blast’ every day—moving & shaking, doing stretches, or enjoying quick team games that deliver laughs, smiles and high-fives.

Games & Sports

Indoors and outdoors, our games and sports feel just right for all skill levels. From the basics (kickball, volleyball… you know the drill!) to some wild and crazy games developed in our top secret movement lab, we make sure kids have fun and enjoy the feeling of being on the team!

Social-Emotional Learning & Fun

Right At School Gives Back

There’s no better opportunity to grow as a member of the local community than getting out and serving others. Our annual Right At School Gives Back program lets kids work together on service projects that support their neighbors and community.

Every year, kids who participate in Right At School Gives Back gain a big sense of community pride.
