I have a confession. We’re completely off our daily schedule. I had great intentions to follow it to the letter. It included school work, art, music, outside time, and even chores. There were so many great examples floating around a week ago, and I spent a lot of time creating one that I really thought would help us create our “new normal.”

However — I don’t think we’ve followed it a single day. Honestly, it’s barely a suggestion in our lives. I’m now at the point where as long as my kids are doing some school work, something active, and are staying engaged somehow each day, and I’m able to get some work done, I’m considering it a successful day. We have found our new new normal.

How are you all doing with those schedules you created last week?

I wanted to share a great YouTube channel that we have recently discovered (my kids watch a cringe-worthy amount of YouTube, but I have to admit there are some wonderful resources to be found here). Art for Kids Hub is run by a family that draws cute images together like popsicles, popcorn, and even avocados with legs. My 1st grader has been an avid drawer the last few days, drawing for hours! I know this channel has been circulating a lot, so perhaps you’ve seen it. If not, check it out below.

Thank you for continuing to share your stories with me. You all have found such creative ways to keep your kids active — I’m inspired by your creativity.

Luis, a Right At School parent from Midland, Texas wanted to share a resource that he has found really useful for his family. His kids love having books read to them by famous actors and musicians on Storyline Online. Thanks for sharing, Luis!

We’re working to curate many more educational and fun online videos, so please send me your suggestions to katie@rightatschool.com. And as always, please keep sharing quarantine stories with me – I really love reading every single one!

As a side note, there are currently two Baby Alive diapers “drying” on my wall – but that’s a blog post for another day.

Hope you’re staying happy and healthy.
