Why Right At School?
Right At School is focused exclusively on student enrichment for children in elementary and middle school. Rather than offering "day-care" or "babysitting," our highly trained educators make sure the learning carries on throughout the Right At School day in a fun and meaningful manner. Our humanities-based academic and wellness program is regularly evaluated, and new programs are offered each quarter.

Whichever program you select, your children will experience best-in-class, fun-filled programs focused on building their creativity, conditioning, character and confidence. And all of this happens right in the comfort and safety of their own school!

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
Students start each day with a healthy snack and time to reconnect with friends during community time. After they're recharged, they go to one of our fantastic enrichment classes, which you help them select each quarter. These include programs such as: The Homework Zone, Olympic Fit, Drama and Improv, International Art, Ecology Explorers, or USTA Tennis. These enrichment offerings change each quarter, so there is always something new to explore. After Enrichment, you may choose to pick them up or have them stay for Extended Day until 6pm. Extended Day activities include indoor and outdoor fitness, reading and homework, art and free play. You'll find your children asking to stay longer once you arrive at school to pick them up.

Will Children Complete Their Homework?
Students have two opportunities to complete homework in our programs. The first is at The Homework Zone, where our educators work with your children not only to complete their homework, but to make sure they understand the work itself. While our educators will not "give them the answers," we always help them solve problems on their own and with the help of their peers.

For those students who do not select The Homework Zone enrichment option but are in our extended day program, they have a dedicated 45-minute period for homework and reading. Either way, our educators have communication forms they use with your children's teachers to help our educators understand the timing of tests, projects, and other issues.

What If I Need Only 3 or 4 Days Per Week?
No problem! Each quarter you can register for as many days per week as you like.

What If I Need to Cancel?
We understand that parents and students occasionally find that classes are not the right fit. Prorated refunds will be given for cancellations until the end of the second session of that class. A pro-rated refund deducting $10 per session attended will be given. After this time, students can still drop the class, but no refunds will be given.

Who Are Right At School Educators and Site Directors
Right At School educators are experienced teachers, social workers and college students dedicated to academic and fitness enrichment. On and off-line training is provided by Right At School's Training Team, and all educators must pass our certification process before they are allowed into your school. Our Area Coordinators also check in with them regularly to ensure programs are of the highest quality.

What If You're Not at My School Yet?
Please fill out one of our contact forms and let us know you're interested in bringing Right At School to your school. Then reach out to your administrators to tell them about us. Once you let us know whom we should speak with at your school, we can take it from there. There is no cost to schools! And if you are the first person to bring us to your school, and they sign up and register 20 students, you get 3 months of Right At School FREE!

Is There a Sibling Discount or Discount If We Use Multiple Days?
Every family who has multiple children in a program receives a 5% discount for each child if you register the siblings at the same time. (If you register separately, you will receive the 5% discount on all children after the first child).

You'll also notice a significant discount for families who use Right At School for multiple days each week. While we keep our fees affordable for all families, we strive to keep the costs especially low for those families who need our program 4 or 5 days per week.

Do You Offer Fee Assistance?
In addition to the sibling and multiple day discounts, parents can apply for daycare assistance in their state and apply it to use at Right At School. Each state has its own policies on fee assistance.

My Child is in 7th Grade. Is Right At School Appropriate?
The Right At School curriculum is primarily geared toward K-6th grade students, but we know parents need support for older children as well. With this in mind, Right At School has designed the Educator in Training (EIT) program just for 7th and 8th grade students, which empowers them to be leaders during our after school programs. Once they complete their own homework, these older students help our educators with setting up and leading activities, help with our newsletters, and serve as photographers or videographers to gather material for the Right At School, Right At Home website.

When Can I Enroll My Child?
We love having new students join our program! For Right At School taught classes, families can enroll their children at any point during our quarters, with some limited restrictions regarding first week of the quarter enrollment (please see below). For vendor taught classes, enrollment is closed after the second week of the session. (LaSalle Language Academy does not allow late registration.)

Online registration ends one week before the start of a new quarter. After online registration ends, we accept registration by phone for a limited period. For the Fourth Quarter of the 2012-2013 school year, we will accept registration by phone until the close of business (6 PM) on the Thursday before the new quarter begins for Wilmette Schools, Evanston Schools and Ogden International. We will accept registration by phone until the close of business (6 PM) on the Wednesday before the new quarter begins for all CPS schools (except Ogden International). If a student is enrolled any time after the close of the phone registration period, our policy is to delay the student's attendance until the Monday of the second week of the quarter. Please know that we do this because safety is our number one priority, and it is critical that all necessary information regarding enrollment be communicated to our Site Directors and to our school partners.

Can My Child Change Classes?
Parents can change their children’s classes during the first two sessions of the class. Please note that a price change may apply if the desired class has a higher or lower price. After two sessions, unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate changes to alternate classes.

Can I enroll my child late?
We understand that parents sometimes find their schedule got away from them and missed a deadline. Call us at 855.287.2466 and we’ll see what we can do. For a Right At School taught class your student can enroll and then start the following Monday. We will prorate your tuition by $10 per class missed. For a Vendor taught class your student can enroll during the first two weeks of the session and then start the following Monday. No proration for missed sessions is offered. Vendor taught classes do not permit enrollment after the first two sessions.

Why don't you give refunds after two sessions?
Great question. The purpose of our credit/refund policy is to allow Right At School to offer quality programs and proper class ratios while maintaining flexibility to our students and parents. Most Illinois afterschool providers offer no refunds ever, even before the first class meets . We want to be more flexible, so we give two sessions so your child gets to understand if they like a class. If they do—and they usually do, great. We think two sessions is fair for both families and our programs and are proud of this policy.

We need this policy—as flexible as it is—to have the two sessions rule because very often our classes get full and we have waiting lists. If we accept one child but don’t take another, that first child is in a sense preventing the second child from taking the class—it’s not really fair to the other children or to Right At School to lose the slot. Not only that, but we preorder snacks and curricular materials. We want to be as flexible as possible, but within viable parameters so we can keep our courses affordable.

I am registering today. Can my child attend the class today?
We love having new students join our program! We cannot permit a student to attend a class the same day they enroll for it. Our policy is to delay attendance until the Monday of the week following registration. Please know that we do this because safety is our number one priority, and it is critical that all necessary information regarding enrollment is communicated to our Site Directors and to the school.
